Google’s 10th Birthday

To celebrate Google’s 10th birthday, they’re letting people search an old version of their index. This page will allow you to search Google’s index from January of 2001. It’s definitely interesting… I checked out the pages of my site that were indexed at the time (here), and there is a lot of stuff in there that I totally forgot aboutImagine that? The internet has come a long way over the past 8 years, not that you need to hear it from me.

Do you run a blog? Does it have a black background with white text? Check this out.

I recently heard about SlyDial. This is a pretty cool (free) service that will allow you to skip to someone’s voicemail. So if you’re socially awkward (or just don’t want to talk to someone) but need to leave them a message, this service will allow you to automatically connect to that person’s voicemail. I haven’t used it yet, but I’m sure I’ll find a use for it at some point.

This “SFW” (Safe For Work) porn ad is pretty hilarious.

Have you ever heard of Delphine LaLaurie? I hadn’t either, until this morning… She was a socialite in New Orleans back in the 1800s. Check out the “Rumors” section of her Wikipedia entry. That’s some sick (albeit interesting) shit.

I came across a band called We Butter The Bread With Butter on some random MP3 blog and decided to download the album. It’s actually not bad, pretty interesting. The site classifies them as “deathcore/electronica/grindcore”, if that gives you any indication as to what they sound like. Anyway, you can check out the album “Das Monster Aus Dem Schrank” here.

Here’s a few more albums… I’ve been slacking on the metal, so I’ll try and make up for it. All That Remains – Overcome, Bloodbath – The Fathomless Mastery (or here), Amon Amarth – Twilight of the Thunder God, Psycroptic – Ob(Servant), After The Burial – Rare Form, and The Decemberists – Always The Bridesmaid (A Single Series).

This voting PSA with Sarah Silverman (and a bunch of other random celebrities) is actually mildly amusing. That’s all for now.
