I’m not sure how many people who come here actually download the mp3s that I post under the “Featured Audio” section, but you should check ‘em out if you never have. I really like the Senses Fail song that I posted, “One Eight Seven”. It starts off like a whiny emo song but give it a chance, it gets pretty cool. I try not to post music from just one genre since I listen to pretty much everything. I’d post stuff more often if you’d leave feedback on what you like and don’t like in the comments thingers. On a pretty unrelated note, the new Modest Mouse CD got ripped a week or so ago, and it’s alright… Different from their older stuff though. Have you ever seen their website? Some strange stuff. Oh yeah, and In Flames… At first I wasn’t sure about their new CD, but now I really like it… Not as much as their older stuff (Whoracle, Clayman, Colony, etc) but it’s still a really good album. Alot of you don’t seem too pleased with it though. Oh well, I guess it’s not for everyone. Anyway…
Well… My sophmore year of college will be over soon… Next year I’ll be living off campus with six of the coolest nigs I’ve met here at school thus far, which will be awesome. But in a way, I’m gonna miss living in the dorms, having so many fun people right down the hall, just casually walking in and out of rooms seeing what everyone is up to. And I can’t forget the countless nights of binge drinking. Some people have told me they hated living on campus, and in certain aspects I do too (one more drinking violation and my ass gets kicked out) but other than being required to adhere to the rules and regulations set by the administration, I’ve had a great time here. I have alot of great pictures and video from since I came to school here, the majority of which I haven’t had a chance to do anything with, but I’d like to put more of that stuff on the site in the future when I actually have some spare time.

“Want A Famous Face” – I really can’t believe that a show like this even exists. Basically the most shallow people on the planet get plastic surgery in an attempt to make themselves look like their favorite celebrities. “How far would you go to look like a celebrity? Nose job here? Nip & tuck there? The people you are about to meet went that far and beyond. They have endured painful and sometimes risky reconstructive surgery to look like their favorite celebrity.” Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with these people?
Back in middle school I remember I used to take post-it notes pads and make flip books out of them, and most of them actually came out pretty damn cool… But none of them were anything like this.
Wow… A US/Canadian drug ring which was distributing an estimated 1 million e-bombs a month, and believed to be responsible for 15% of all the E smuggled into America recently got PWNED by the DEA. Sucks for them, I guess.
I have a camera phone, and I don’t really use the camera feature a whole lot, but I can honestly say I’ve never found myself using it for anything like this… I guess I’m just not creative like that?

A couple months ago everyone was amazed by the video of that kid beating Super Mario Bros. 3 in 11 minutes, or whatever it was. Regardless of it’s authenticity, I thought that it was pretty cool to watch. i find myself agreeing with your take on the new in flames’ album, john. i picked it up on wednesday and have really liked what i’ve heard thus far. compared to their past stuff, it is most similar to R2R, but two points on that: 1) i like R2R on its own, anyhow. yes, it’s not their old stuff, but there’s nothing wrong with something different. in my mind, R2R holds up just fine. 2) it’s similar, but not a R2R rehash. there’s an edge to this record that wasn’t there on R2R.
overall, i’ve been quite happy with this album. my 2 cents.

If you liked "The District Sleeps Alone Tonight", check out the rest of the album. "Nothing Better" is such an awesome song. Also, check out Death Cab for Cutie, another band that the lead singer is in (It is my understanding that The Postal Service is sort of a side-project of his.

That thing on college is pretty spot-on. I’m a freshman, and though we’re in school almost a month longer than everyone else (last exam on June 1st), it’s still been bugging me that I’m going to have to say goodbye to everyone I’ve met (not so much the guys on my hall but all the female friends that I’ve come to know) and not see them for at least three months.
Dude, that "I Want a Famous Face" show really is messed up. I was viewing the photos on the MTV site when I came across the one who wants to end up looking like J.Lo. The only problem is, the person is a guy! That seriously freaked me out–I was expecting some guys wanting to look like actors and some girls looking like singers, but not some drag green trying to look like J.Lo! It’s pretty hopeless, I think: I’ve seen very few pictures of convincing post-op "women," despite extensive plastic surgery.
However, the overall idea of the show seems worthy enough–they really cleaned amazingly up the twins who wanted to look like Brad Pitt, and I figure that if a girl wants to look like Britney Spears or Kate Winslet, then by all means, let her try to be a clone! That’s fine by me.
You should really give using your camera phone a shot. I thought that they were totally useless and a stupid add-on to new phones, but then I discovered that I could transfer the pictures wirelessly through the infrared ports on my camera and laptop, and since then I’ve amassed nearly 300 megs of pictures (at 30-45kb each) in the past six or so months, while at college. I use the camera exclusively for taking pictures to later upload onto my blog.
Those Goldeneye videos on the video game site are insane. I’m going to go try out some of the techniques to see if I can beat them that fast!

When he had a complete run, he sped it back up, saved it as a video, and posted it. Some people assumed at first that the author really did it like that, in one go, but later on he posted explaining what he had done.
As for music, I’m not too much of a fan of random stuff. My roommate listens to Metallica 24/7 and nothing else (or at least nearly every waking hour), whereas I’m a fan of Rammstein and then a lot of techno, with the assorted Eminem albums. I remember you did a post a while back that was a bunch of random links to http sites where one could download music, and a bookmarked a particularly good one to return to later after the rush had died down. Besides getting the entire Chemical Brothers’ "Come With Us" album (and subsequently burning it to a CD–buying is out of the question as it’s RIAA), I got some other varied techno songs that were good. I look forward to another one of those posts, but I do think you’re doing good by offering all the mp3s for download that you do.
Just as a plug/aside, anybody into techno should check out Epitonic.com (http://www.epitonic.com). It’s got a few genres of music, but it’s specialty is electronic. There are some kicking streaming albums available there, as well as plenty of decent-quality mp3 downloads.
Good post. Usually I look, and when I comment it’s never been this verbose, but I believe that such a good and long-awaited update deserves to be commented upon.

In Flames album is released in the States and I must say… I actually like it. Other than RTR, all their albums are worthy of buying.
Fear Factory’s ‘Archetype’ will be released next week on the 20th! Be sure to purchase that aswell John!
