It Was All A Dream…

I don’t usually waste any of my time with these types of things, but the other night I was checking my IMs before I went to bed, and someone I hadn’t talked to for awhile sent it to me, and I figured what the hell, I’ll give it a shot. I was actually laughing out loud when I read the results, they couldn’t have been further from the truth. I’m not gonna go into detail but it told me that one of my male friends was my “shining star”. I guess that just goes to show you that these things really were made for girls. It also said that “Fucking Hostile” by Pantera is the song that tells me about my life. Actually, it’s the song that was playing (Winamp was on random) while I was taking the stupid test. I’m not even sure why I’m wasting my time writing about this. I could be putting my time to much better use!

System of a Down has two albums coming out in 2005, and you know what? I honestly couldn’t care less. And those of you who have been visiting this site for a long time know how huge of a fan I used to be, for like three years they were one of my absolute favorite bands. Well, “Steal This Album” was pretty shitty, so I don’t see them making any improvements musically from that album, and I’m also sick and tired of politics in music. I realize SOAD’s first two albums were pretty politically-fueled, but for whatever reason, that didn’t keep me from enjoying it then… Maybe it wasn’t as obvious, who knows. That might sound ignorant or whatever, and yeah, bands should write about whatever they want, but it just gets out of hand sometimes. A Perfect Circles new album “Emotive” is nothing but covers of what are more or less war protest songs, and even if they weren’t originally written to speak out against the war, that’s how they’re meant to be interpreted on this album. I feel like their dedication to changing the world and all that good stuff is having a negative effect on their artistic integrity, and the quality of the music that they’re putting out. A Perfect Circle’s first two albums were absolutely amazing, and then they put this shit out. And then there’s this “Axis of Justice” concert album. I got kinda excited when I saw this in Best Buy, but didn’t have any cash on me so I downloaded it from IRC. Thank god I didn’t spend the money on it. Everything I could possibly say about this album has already been said in the reviews here. It’s terrible. I love everyone involved in the project (Maynard, Serj, Morello, Flea, etc) but this is just shitty. I’m listening to it right now and after I finish up the last few songs I’m going to delete it. I’m not sure if this is a rant about shitty music, politics in music, or both, but I just wanted to get a few things off my chest. This wasn’t well thought out, and I didn’t read over it after I typed it, so feel free to go through and pick out all the parts where I contradict myself and all that.

Slayer fans, prepare to (most likely) be angered. Lil Jon sampled two of Slayer’s classic songs, “Raining Blood” and “South of Heaven”, in a track from his new album, “Crunk Juice”. The song is called “Stop Fuckin’ Wit Me”, or something along those lines. Bi-curious? Here’s the mp3, courtesy of some poor schmuck’s bandwidth. Okay, that was mean. But all I did was type in “lil jon” and “slayer” in Google and that’s one of the first things that came up, so I doubt he has a problem with it being available to everyone.

Check out Buckethead’s Tribute to ODB. I think that the MP3 on there is pretty damn cool, the video is kinda strange though.

Save A Horse, Ride A Meatball

I’m an idiot, and I dropped a 120 GB IDE hard drive from about 4 feet onto a carpeted floor. Now when I put it into the computer it won’t detect it, and it just makes clicking noises. I know data recovery services are more expensive than I can afford… Anyone specialize in this type of thing or know someone that does that could possibly help me out? This kinda shit seems to happen to me alot… My high school photography portfolio fuckin decayed or something, I went to look at all the photos last time I was at home, and they were all brown and discolored, some of them you couldn’t even tell what the photo was supposed to be of.

I would love to have a projector to play videos and winamp visualization plugins on, that would be awesome. Even though I just lost 120 GB of music videos/movies/etc, I’m still thinking about trying to save up and build a projector. There are several of those do-it-yourself guides that I’ve seen that explain how to build your own projector, but that one seems like the best.

Alright, as far as the Power Hour DVD goes, it’s definitely gonna have three power hours on it, and that’s the final count. One will be rap, one rock/pop, and one punk/metal. I’m almost done with the punk/metal one, and I have videos downloaded for all three power hours, but I haven’t cut them all down to 60 seconds yet, or chosen the order that the songs will go in. Once I’m done with all that I’m gonna make menus and everything, and I’ll probably end up adding extra shit on the DVD as well. It’s gonna be a little while until it’s done because I want it to come out good and I don’t wanna rush it - But I’m real busy with school too (as usual) - I’ve only worked on it for like half an hour so far this week. Anyway, if you’re interested in the DVD and want me to get in touch with you when it’s finished, just post a comment with your e-mail address/IM me/e-mail, whatever. I’ll keep a list of the e-mails of people who are potentially interested and when it’s done I’ll let you all know the details.

I turn 21 on December 4th. I’ve posted about how the cops are really cracking down on parties lately here in Shippenburg. Since I have very little time left until I can legally drink, I’ve been very careful where I go. Last weekend I didn’t even go out Friday night. Saturday night a bunch of my friends were going to Lambda Chi. They never have kegs, always BYOB parties, so they can’t be charged for furnishing to minors. Because of this, cops never seem to bust the parties. I was all ready to leave with them to the Mardi Gras party, and then I realized going out at all might be a bad idea since I would be walking there with a bookbag full of beers and I had already been drinking. I decided to stay home, slightly antisocial but as far as I’m concerned it was a smart move. I passed out around one or so, and two of my friends came back here at like 4:30 and had gotten underages. The frat got busted, even though they weren’t serving alcohol. I don’t really understand why or how it happened, but apparently the police had a warrant and they searched the entire house. They busted 102 people that night, though they did let football players go. When they first arrived they wanted to get their shit organized, so apparently one of the cops said “Alright, all you whores line up here, and assholes line up here”. They setup tables with laptops so they could “process” everyone quickly, even though they were there for several hours. One of my friends was working the door at the party, he wasn’t even drinking, and he might be facing a several thousand dollar fine - He doesn’t even live at the house. I just think this is ridiculous, is there nothing else going on in this town, they really have to bust parties where alcohol isn’t even being served? I understand it’s their job and all, and people should consider the consequences of their actions (underage drinking) before deciding to do them anyway, but several people I know are probably not gonna be going to school here next year because of being busted at that party. Underage drinking charges (especially when you have more than one) are pretty serious. Here at Shippensburg, the school likes to stick their nose in your business - Even if you’re caught drinking off campus, you still face on campus consequences - Being forced to take classes, and facing possible suspension/expulsion. I just think the whole situation is messed up and it’s only getting worse. If this was my freshman year here and I hadn’t met alot of the awesome people I’ve met, I would definitely consider transferring to a different school. It’s not that drinking is that important to me that it will make or break my decision to attend a specific school, but if you do decide to drink, even if you “play it safe” and only have a few beers, you’re still at a high risk of getting busted for it. I’m not sure where I’m going with this, I’m just letting off steam. I’m sure alot of you disagree with what I have to say, and that’s fine, but a good number of those who disagree probably don’t have much of a social life anyway, which would explain your position on the matter. You probably eat babies too, don’t you? Oh my god, you eat babies? That’s terrible. Flootarg.

On Monday night, Dr. Dre was attacked, the G-Unit got involved in a brawl, and a man was stabbed. Just another rap awards show though, nothing out of the ordinary. Speaking of awards shows, Anna Nicole Smith was at the American Music Awards. And? You tell me, check out the video.

Wanna make cheese in your bathtub? Alright, awesome… Oh, you want a link that teaches you how to do that? I should have known… You can learn here.

I’m NOT Lovin’ It“. I hate McDonalds commercials with a burning passion, though I guess that one was kinda interesting.

Oh man, “AIM Hottiez” is so lame. You click the links and it adds “hot girls” to your AIM buddylist. Are people really that lonely?

Check out Lindsey Lohan at the pool, here. Man, I would kill some paparazzi if I was a celebrity.

If I was smart, I’d probably set some time aside to read “how to learn a language“, seeing as how I’m in Spanish 3 and barely know a word of Spanish. Then again, I’m not too smart, so I’m just gonna forget about that link and continue with the update. I’m incredibly confused by this.

This flash video for Radiohead’s “Creep” is actually really cool. Check it out if you like the song.

I only played around with this 99 Rooms thing for a few minutes, but it seems really cool, if you have some free time on your hands I suggest you check it out.

Holy crap.

Do you have a weblog? Wanna post an entry, but just don’t have the time? This is probably what you’re looking for.

I found this site while looking at entensity.net, and I gotta say it’s one of the… Well, I guess worst sites ever.

ODB, aka Big Baby Jesus, is dead. No, really. I’m actually kinda upset about this one. Speaking of rappers, if for whatever reason you wanted/needed to know a rapper’s real name, you could probably find it on here.

So Playboy did “Girls of Starbucks“, and I guess that probably went over pretty well. Then they did “Girls of Wal-Mart“. Okay, there’s probably some hot girls working there. They recently took another step down, and decided to do “Girls of McDonalds“. What’s next? I’m looking forward to “Girls of the Hatfield Meat Packaging Factory”. Actually, that has alot of potential.

I dunno how many of you shop for DVDs online, but I usually get mine from Deep Discount DVD. They’re usually the cheapest and they have free shipping. Being A Gangster is Hella Tight

Does anyone else go to a college where the cops are on an all-out crusade against underage drinking? Shippensburg wasn’t nearly this bad last year - If you were stumbling around obviously drunk they’d stop you and probably give you an underage, or public drunkenness. This year though, they’re doing everything in their power to bust each and every underage drinker possible. In one of my alcohol classes this kid told us his friend was at a party, and some kid said “hey man, i’m wasted”, to which his friend replied “yeah, me too”. Well, the kid was an underage cop, and the kid’s friend got an underage. To me that seems like they’re going a little too far. Saturday night me and two friends were at a small party, I’d say there were no more than fifteen people there. About ten minutes after we got there, the cops were outside and the kids who lived there said everyone had to leave. Well I saw the cops giving people breathalyzers, so I hid in someone’s room, in a closet, underneath a big pile of clothes. My friend helped bury me before he tried to bury himself. I heard the cop come into the room and saw him shining the flashlight around, and he saw my friend and grabbed him and pulled him out, saying something along the lines of “this fucker’s coming out of the closet”. The comment was unnecessary, but what were the cops doing there in the first place? The party was by no means loud or out of control. The cop came back into the room and stood like a foot away from me, I had already accepted the fact that I was caught when I heard him come back in and say “who else is in here”, and it’s some kind of miracle that he didn’t find me… I was just waiting for my phone to ring or something and give me away. Well my friend got an underage, and I feel pretty bad about that since he helped to bury me before he even worried about himself, and he’s already waiting on a court hearing for an underage we got this summer (most of us plead guilty, he plead not guilty). And the way underages work at this school is the police notify the university, even if you were caught off campus. The school has a three strikes and you’re out policy… My third strike was this Summer (so I was off campus and school wasn’t in session) and they’re counting that against me, so I might get suspended for a semester. My friend is on his fifth, so it’s not too likely that he’s gonna get off as easy as me. We were supposed to go to Madrid next Summer, we already paid the down payments and everything, so that really sucks. Well, I’m just kind of randomly bitching right now, but back to the topic at hand. From what I’ve been told, the LCB chooses a different college to terrorize every year, and we got lucky this year… Our school recieved a $10,000 grant from them for scheduling “alternative programming for the first weekend of the fall semester” - Basically this means the cops were going to go crazy and crack down as much as possible on the underage drinking. That first weekend yielded record numbers of arrests, there were articles about it in the paper and everything, and it seems like they forgot that the “alternative programming” was only supposed to be for the first weekend. Last year, Bloosmburg took it from behind in a similiar manner. This wasn’t my only “close call” either. I’ve had two others, one on Homecoming, and one two weekends ago. I don’t even go out that often, for fear of getting another underage, and it seems like everytime I do, I come real close to getting busted. After this past Saturday, though, I don’t think I’m going out again until I turn 21. I’m not sure what the point of all this was, it just doesn’t seem fair to me that I can’t go out and have a good time if I’m being responsible. I’m not suggesting that the cops should ignore the law, but concentrate on the real big parties that are disrupting the community, and maybe some “real crime”. But whatever, life kinda sucks like that. And I have so much work I should be doing right now, it’s really not smart of me to be sitting at the computer, but I’m gonna try and finish this update before I get back to studying.

So I finally got my free iPod in the mail. There’s “proof” or whatever here, though I don’t see why anyone would lie about this. I am a bit dissapointed that it wasn’t the super kewliez version, but hey, beggars can’t be choosy. Anyway, I’m still trying to get a free flat screen and a free pvp, so if you sign up using one of those links, let me know, and I’ll post your referral link on the free iPod page. If you already have an iPod, BiblePod is the best program ever. Who needs music when you can take the Bible with you wherever you go?

Anyone remember the Sifl & Olly show? It was one of the best shows… Ever. If you miss it as much as I do, sign this petition!

Guys… I finally found a singles site that fits my needs. Thank God for stdsingles.com.

Ever wonder how to overclock your toothbrush? Neither did I.

Jamie’s Queerspace” sounds alot like “John’s Crawlspace”. I’m not sure how I feel about that.
