Dudecore

On Saturday night, I saw Rob Zombie’s new movie, “The Devil’s Rejects“, and I actually liked it. It was definitely alot more violent and disturbing than I had expected it to be, which was a pleasant surprise. If you liked House of 1000 Corpses (or even if you didn’t) check this movie out, it’s definitely better than his first film. I’ve actually seen alot of movies lately… Believe it or not, I actually liked Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, even though Johnny Depp kinda creeped me out due to the fact that he reminded me of Michael Jackson at least ten times during the movie. I hadn’t even heard of Crash when I went to see it, but it turned out to be really good, if you haven’t had a chance to see it I’d definitely recommend it. Fantastic Four was entertaining, but I don’t think I’d wanna see it again. Wedding Crashers was pretty funny, but it was nothing ground breaking or anything, I’m sure I’ll see it 500 more times when school starts back up and everyone buys it on DVD. And Layer Cake, which has been out for awhile but was somehow still in theaters a few weeks ago, was a really cool movie - If you liked Lock Stock or Snatch, then it’s definitely up your alley. I know I’ve seen others recently as well but I can’t think of them right now, and I’m not really telling you much about the movies anyway so this is kinda pointless. Take it.

I saw Between the Buried and Me last Thursday night @ the Ottobar in Baltimore, which was pretty badass, but I officially hate mapquest.com - Every single time I use that site for directions I end up getting lost somehow, yet I always come back and use it again, so I guess it’s my own fault. The show started at 7:30, and I didn’t get there until around 10:00, so I got to see the last song that The Red Chord played, and I missed The Acacia Strain, which was the band I wanted to see the most. To be honest, though, I’m getting tired of all this hardcore shit… Whistlecore is where it’s at.

Speaking of music, there’s a new Coheed and Cambria track on their website. And if any of you are into Horse the Band, they have awesome new tracks up on Myspace. And uh, speaking of horses…

OMG! Thanks to AIM Fight, you can totally find out who is the most popular among your friends. Sweet! This rules! I know where you live.

I’m all for everyone doing their own thing, having their own beliefs and all that good stuff, but honestly, for the love of god, what the hell is this crazy shit all about? I realize I just contradicted myself and yes, I’m fine with that. I’m also fine with this, because Eminem is a total grundle now, and has put out nothing but garbage for the past 3 or so years… I still love the first two CDs though.

Personally I’m not a huge fan of Rubik’s Cubes, but if you happen to be, then this site may or may not be of interest to you. Wow, that was fucking boring.

If you’re a fan of Family Guy, this site has all of the songs from the show available for download. Also, did you know that the Family Guy Movie (”Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story“) is on the internet? If you have a BitTorrent client (I use BitTornado) you can download it here. If you don’t use BitTorrent, you can grab the movie from here, but I doubt that file is gonna be around for long, so get it while you can. I’m grabbing it from an FTP now and it should be done in a few minutes, I’ll probably watch it tonight.

Judging by the looks of this, people in Moscow aren’t big fans of junk e-mail.

Okay, this article is pretty interesting. It’s about the development of a program that will allow you to more or less rip audio from old records using your scanner.

Metal Chicks Rock: Indeed, they do.

Every so often, someone comes up with an invention that has a significant positive effect on our everyday lives. Sometimes it’s new piece of technology that allows us to be more efficient, or something innovative that makes you go “why didn’t I think of that?” And sometimes, it’s a mug that allows you to drink 30 ounces in 1.75 seconds. Dammit, I love bonging beers, and I really want one of those… I’d sport that thing all over the place and make everyone jealous.

Holy shit… So the moon really is made of cheese - You have to zoom in the whole way.

All The Love In The World

Update: Just thought I’d let you all know I got my dock for my iPod for free from Apple. You can do the same, just go here, enter your iPod’s serial #, then login and fill everything out. I told them that my current dock wasn’t recieving any power, and that I tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, as well as I trying it on several other computers to no avail. They ship overnight and don’t ask you to send your defective unit back. You’re welcome.

I saw datemenatalie.com a couple weeks ago and didn’t think much of it, but since then I’ve had a few people IM/e-mail the link to me, and since it seems like the site is starting to get a decent amount of press, I figured I’d might as well mention it on here… I’ve already dated Natalie Portman a few times… Sure she’s cute, but she has a personality like a dead moth, and we actually were asked to leave Olive Garden because she wouldn’t stop farting. I was so embarrassed.

If you love eating human flesh as much as I do, then you’ll be thrilled to learn about Hufu - The healthy human flesh alternative!

Today is the 10th anniversary of ‘MP3′. I can’t in all honesty say I’ve known about them for ten years - my earliest memory of MP3s is downloading them using AOL 3.0 on a 14.4 kbps modem, I remember having a couple DMX MP3s and thinking it was the coolest thing ever, even though we didn’t have a CD burner at the time (they weren’t commonly available at that point yet). Freshman year of high school (which would have been in 1998) I got one of these for about $150 and even though it only held 6 or 7 MP3s at a time I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I remember people at school asking me what it was, and when I said “an MP3 player”, they’d ask “what the hell is an MP3?” I guess after Napster came out people started to catch on. Anyway, I thought that was kind of interesting. Take it.

I live right outside of Philly but I really didn’t have any desire to go to Live8, though I know a bunch of people that did go and they seemed to have a great time. Regardless, if you missed the TV coverage or want to see any of the performances again (not just the Philadelphia ones), this page seems to have all of them in high quality Quicktime format.

Wow, I’m pretty sure that Planarity is the most aggravating game I’ve ever played. Chaos Theory is pretty cool though, my high score is 110.

Oldmencrying.com - It just feels right, you know?

If you own an iPod and want some free accessories for it (like a dock, if your iPod didn’t come with one - mine didn’t) then check out this article.

“Two accused methamphetamine traffickers apparently rigged up their car so that if cops closed in, a small rocket carrying their stash would pop up from the trunk and launch itself far from the long arm of the law.” Interesting… Read the full article here.

Lately I’m all about shelling out a little more cash and buying semi-decent alcohol. I brought back a bottle of Absinthe with me from Spain, and the other night we were looking around on Webtender for some drinks that we could make with it, since I didn’t feel like doing shots of it (I’ve done that before). While browsing the site, I came across a wonderful concoction known as “Horse Jizz“. It doesn’t incorporate absinthe, but it sounds absolutely delicious nonetheless. I have yet to try it, but if any of you do, let me know how it is. Also, if you feel like sharing any drink recipes with me, I’d be more than happy to try them out. Well that’s it for now, I’m heading to Arts Fest at Penn State tomorrow (which I guess would actually be today, since it’s past midnight) and then going to Shippensburg on Saturday, so I’ll be gone for the weekend. Watch my stamp collection for me while I’m gone.

SKINHEADS OI!

Spain… I got back on the 29th. This was my first time going abroad, so I can’t really compare it to anything else, but I had so much fun, I didn’t want to come back to the US at all. So let’s see… I got smacked in the throat by a gypsy (they dont like when you interfere with their preying on tourists) and had a guy threaten to cut my throat, and I was offered every drug in the book about fifty times a day. It was kind of ridiculous to be walking through a busy plaza area and have some dude offer you heroin right out in the open. But enough about that. The scenery over there was amazing, I would have taken so many more pictures if I had brought more memory sticks with me for my camera, but you can check out all of the pictures I did manage to take here. Hmmm… I vom’ed off of this bridge in Ronda. We made an awesome drinking card game that prompted many vomiting sessions as well, I might post that on here later. I bought a new video camera (Sony DCR-HC21) for this trip and I ended up filling 3 tapes with video while I was there, so sooner or later some of that will end up here on the site. I went “barhopping” in Westchester last night. At last call in the last bar we were in, we got 2 carbombs and two 6 packs to go, and the total was $29. That was pretty brutal for me after having been in Spain for two weeks, where you can get a six pack for around $2.50. Anyway, I’ll be spending the 4th of July in Dewey Beach, Delaware, which should be alot of fun. I’m heading there today and coming back Tuesday. I was supposed to call work when I got back from my trip, but I’m not so sure if I wanna do that now, we’ll see what happens I guess. I wanna go back to Spain right now.

I’m not sure how I feel about people extracting video from cat brains. Don’t get me wrong, cats pretty much suck, and it is pretty amazing to see what has been accomplished here, but it’s kind of scary to think about what this could lead to. That’s deep.

Check it out: Nike ripped off Minor Threat’s album cover for their US Skateboarding tour. That’s pretty lame… And it sparked the creation of tons of parodies.

This Stella Artois commercial is pretty damn strange, it reminds me of a short Dali film that I saw.

I wish I knew more about video editing and stuff, this video is pretty funny, and I’d love to be able to do stuff like that.

Anyway, the next post will be much longer than this one - I’ve only been home for one day and I’m already getting ready to leave again, so I didn’t have much time to work on this. Alright, I’m outtie 3.14 - Everyone have a wonderful drunken 4th of July, hopefully full of borderline alcohol poisoning and pyromaniacal delight… I know mine will be.
