My Connects Move Anthrax on Amtraks October 19
So I was in Penn State not this past weekend, but the one before it. I had a pretty fun time, alot of parties and tailgating for the PSU/Ohio State game, and I have never seen so many cops in my entire life. They were lining the streets, all in full riot gear. From the Kappa Sigma porch we counted 48 cops in plain view, and 4 more on rooftops. And that’s just from where we were standing. We didn’t end up going into the game, since tickets were so expensive, so after the tailgating died down we just went back to my friend’s place and watched it on TV. After the game, people rushed the field, and alot of them got pepper sprayed and clubbed. So all in all it was a pretty good weekend, I have some pretty good video but God knows if I’ll ever get around to actually putting that on here.
This past weekend was Homecoming here at Shippensburg, and it was pretty ridiculous as well. Our school doesn’t have nearly as much ’school spirit’ as other, larger schools seem too though, and I don’t know a whole lot of people that really cared all that much about the Homecoming football game. So we originally planned to get super drunk and rowdy and paint our faces and just go nuts at the game and see how people reacted, but that didn’t end up happening. Homecoming is the only day of the year that you can drink on campus here, and I didn’t even end up going to the tailgate or anything, so that kinda sucks, we just ended up sitting on our front porch for awhile yelling at cars and stuff until we went out.
Tomorrow I have a mandatory trip to the Eastern State Penitentiary, and I’m not even sure exactly what we’re going there to see, but it’s an art-related trip, so it should be interesting. I know we’re not going to the “Terror Behind The Walls” thing, I just haven’t bothered to look into what the trip is really about, I’ve been way too busy.
Some of my work is hanging up in the Art Center here at Shippensburg, and the other day I had a chance to take a picture of one of the pieces, you can check that out here if you care.
My friend sent me a link to this video, it’s supposed to be a real exorcism that took place in Russia. I don’t know anything about the legitimacy of the video, but it’s interesting stuff nonetheless.
So this guy made a myspace.com account, and in less than 24 hours he had over 1 million friends on the site. Kind of an interesting article.
Check out the 46 best ever freeware utilities, there’s some pretty useful programs on there. Also, check out “My Favorite Smallware“.
Alright… I really dislike doing this, but if there is anyone out there that is willing to help me out, I only need two more people to sign up for this website so I can get a new iPod… Since I lost the first one, and life without an iPod, well, kinda sucks. If you’re willing to help me out, e-mail me or IM me first so I don’t have more people doing it than necessary. The site, FlashiPods4free, has tons of different offers, and some of them are free if you cancel within the trial period. I wasn’t gonna post about this on here, but I’ve been having trouble finding people here at school to sign up for me, and I can’t stand not having an iPod anymore. Get in touch with me and I’ll send you a Power Hour DVD or something.
Check out the photography over at lastchapter. Also, check out StayHeavy.net, 7pounds.net, PL, and Sociopathic.net.
Here’s a couple free things: Subscription to Digital Video Magazine, Deck of Texas Hold ‘Em cards, domino necklace (uhh…), and actually that’s all I have time for right now.
I have a test at 12 that’s worth 50% of my grade in this Media Writing course, so it’d probably be in my best interest to start studying for that now. Everybody have a great weekend, and hopefully I’ll have a chance to switch to a different news posting system so you can start leaving comments here again… I don’t like coming here and not seeing any feedback. Until next time, this is Billy Gilman signing out.
