TKE It!

So it’s been a pretty damn long time since I’ve posted. I’ve been dealing with alot of crap lately, but Thanksgiving Break is finally here, and it’s about time. I’m not gonna go into detail, but let’s just say things aren’t going very well around here, and posting on the site hasn’t exactly been at the top of my priority list.

This layout is only temporary until I have the chance to create a new one. This is (obviously) the default template for Wordpress, which I updated to in order to reduce spam comments, and it’s just an overall better application. So feel free to start posting feedback in the comments section now, I hated the fact that I had to disable that for so long while I was still using Greymatter.

I seriously can’t wait for the 50 Cent: Bulletproof game to come out. After watching the tralers on the game’s website, I definitely wanna get a copy of this when it comes out.

MIT has unveiled its $100 hand-cranked laptop computer to the United Nations technology summit in Tunisia and said that it hopes to make millions of the devices to give to the poorest people in the world. This is a pretty interesting read, you can check out the full article here.

I don’t know if many of you are familiar with the death metal band Dying Fetus, but they’re pretty ridiculous, and I have a hard time taking them seriously. Anyway, someone put together a bunch of clips from children’s shows (alot of them look like they’re from Nickelodeon shows) and made a music video for the bands’ hit single, “Kill Your Mother, Rape Your Dog”. You know you wanna see that.

This is kinda interesting… A bunch of indie bands were asked if they’d like to perform on the popular tv show, ‘the OC’. I’m kind of surprised at a alot of the answers given.

I finally got ahold of a copy of Martin & Orloff on DVD, and it’s pretty damn funny. If you’re a fan of the Upright Citizens Brigade, or other weird sketch comedy, it’s probably worth checking out. It was just recently released on DVD, I got it from Deep Discount DVD (product link) for $11.99.

I got an email from a viewer of the site that asked me to help him raise funds for a charity, the ‘BBC Children in Need Appeal’. He told me that on the site (sponsquare.co.uk), “there are 3000 squares to sponsor and each requires a donation of 1 GBP. Once a square is sponsored it gets flipped to reveal part of a larger picture of Pudsey Bear (he’s the main symbol of the charity). The ultimate aim is to get every square flipped to reveal the whole picture - and raise 3000 GBP in the process!” For more information on this charity, visit the BBC Children in Need Appeal homepage.

Check out mizi’s work that got featured on deviously artistic, pretty cool stuff. Also, check out DJTurtle.com.

I’m heading to Harrisburg tonight to hang out with some friends, and then leaving for Pittsburgh tomorrow morning to visit relatives for the holiday. I was just outside (beer run) and it’s snowing, and coming down pretty heavy too, so hopefully the roads will be nice and slick when I get out there… Just kiddin’ folks, have a great holiday weekend!

I Have The Best Luck Ever

So we had a Halloween party here on Saturday. We’ve had parties before but usually kept them relatively small, but we decided to go all out with this one… Three kegs, jello shots, the works, we even rented a projector from the University Library to play music videos on the wall in the living room, which was pretty damn cool. So it was a pretty fun time, but some douchebag decided to steal my digital camera… I’m pretty upset about that. It’s pretty uncool that we put all this time/effort/money into having a party and letting people come in and trash our house, and they turn around and do something like that. So yeah, I guess this means no more pictures for awhile.

Noise 1.0.1 is “the hottest sensation to sweep the nation: Pink Noise! Also known as a signal with even power distribution on a logarithmic frequency scale, pink noise masks background noise to help you concentrate. Now with source code and white noise, for those less colorful. Drown out annoying roommates and co-workers today!” I dunno if I’d ever feel the need to use this, but the fact that someone came up with it is kind of <interesting.

I guess I didn’t need to see this video to know that Kool Keith (aka Dr. Octagon aka Dr. Dooom) was absolutely nuts, but it was kinda interesting to see him in an interview after listening to his crazy lyrics for so long.

I’ve been hearing a lot about Intelligent Design in the news lately, and I have a Physical Anthropology teacher that talks about it almost every day in class as well. Many people seem to be against the teaching of Intelligent Design in schools. I think that if they want to teach it in private schools that’s fine, but I don’t really think it has a place in public schools.

Check out this sink/aquarium hybrid thing. It’s only $5,500 - That’s pocket change.

There were alot of awful games for the original Nintendo, but these are the 20 worst games ever.

Looking for a new hard drive? You can get the Maxtor 300GB hard drive and an external drive enclosure for only $99 (after $20 rebate) here.

I can honestly say that waking up in the morning for classes or whatever is the worst part of any given day - Unless I get hit by a garbage truck or something, but all kidding aside, I hate getting out of bed in the morning. This dude came up with an alarm system that’s supposed to make you feel better when you wake up in the morning. I doubt I’ll end up trying it, but it might be worth a shot.

I love Calvin & Hobbes, I used to read those books all the time when I was younger. This site has a bunch of the ’snow art’ strips, worth checking out if you’re a fan as well.

I didn’t have much time to look for free stuff to post on here today, but if you’re a college student, you can get a free “Baller Pen” here. It looks like it has a little pad of paper that pulls out of the pen for (presumably) passing notes in class, which would have been cool… In fourth grade. I’m not gonna lie, I ordered one. You can get free US state magnets here (Item #8506 will apparently get you all 50). Fill out this survey for a free $5 gas card… Nice. Free .be (Belgium) domain names here. And finally, you can get a free Kahlua cocktail shaker here. Enjoy!

If you’re into snowboarding, check out Slanted Ground. I have a web design course with the guy who made/runs this site, and it’s pretty well put together. Anyway. that’s all the time I have for now, I have alot of catching up to do with school work. Hopefully I’ll have enough time to get the comments working soon… Hope you all have a good week.
