The Pick of Destiny

I’m sure many of you are excited for the upcoming Tenacious D movie, “The Pick of Destiny“. I know I am. It comes out on November 22nd, and the soundtrack comes out on November 14th. I don’t know how many of you have the first Tenacious D CD, but it’s absolutely amazing - Not only is it hilarious, the music is actually damn good. So I’m just as excited for the movie to come out as I am the accompanying album. Three tracks from the album have leaked, so naturally I’m posting them here:

I haven’t had a chance to listen to them yet as I’ve been busy as hell, but I’m sure they’re awesome.

Check out the fake warrant generator. Use it to scare the shit out of your friends.

I’ve probably posted this before, and it’s certainly not new by any means, but this Salon.com article, “Everything You Were Afraid To Ask About ‘Donnie Darko’” is very interesting, and definitely sheds new light on the movie. I read it a year or so ago and it definitely helped me to understand a lot more about what’s going on in the movie. I just watched it yesterday because I was in a Halloween-ish movie mood, and it reminded me of this article. It’s seven pages long, but definitely worth the read.

Media-Convert.com: This site could definitely come in handy. It lets you convert tons of different file types, such as documents, compressed archives, audio, and video files, from one format to another, and stores the converted files online for you to download. Definitely a cool idea.

Check out Swords and Sandals, this game is pretty cool. You customize a warrior and then send him into battle. I’ll probably waste the next half hour messing with this game and rocking out to The D. You should probably do the same.

Also, I just found this in a text file that I use to write updates in, I guess I just forgot to post it, but it’s a month or two old. Oh well…

Last Sunday night a “riot” broke out on the street I live on. This is a college town and sometimes things get a little crazy, so it didn’t surprise me at all that it happened. I was at a neighbors house and when I opened the door (probably around midnight or so) I saw a ridiculous amount of people outside, mostly on the sidewalks and in the street. There are usually a lot of parties on this street, but people don’t usually hang out in big groups in the middle of the road. I knew something was going on but I wasn’t sure what. Cops started to show up, and within 20 minutes or so there were 5 or 6 cop cars on either end of the street. They told my neighbors to go inside because they were gonna use smoke bombs. I don’t know if they did or not, or what ended up happening (it was Labor Day weekend, so my memory is a bit fuzzy) but I ended up leaving my house around 2:30 am or so to go to a friends and by that time the street was empty (as far as people go, anyway, but there was broken glass everywhere) and there were still 3 cop cars there. Anyway, you can read some of the articles about it if you’re interested: AP Wire, Fox 43, ABC 27 and PennLive.

Saturday Night Wrist

The new Deftones album, Saturday Night Wrist, can be downloaded here. You’re welcome. Let’s hope it doesn’t suck. Speaking of sucking… The chupacabra, aka “goat sucker”, has apparently been captured… Peep dat shiznog.

As Daylight Dies

I just wanted to make a quick post since the Killswitch Engage album has leaked - I haven’t even downloaded it yet, but here it is for those of you that want it:

For those of you that don’t have any of the band’s previous albums, here they are, compliments of various “mp3 blogs”: Killswitch Engage, their first (self-titled) album is my favorite, but it’s not as “polished” as the others, I’d say it has a more brutal sound than anything they put out afterwards. Check out the lyrics to some of the tracks (such as “Vida Infra”), the songs are so brutal and you’d think they were typical metal with negative/hateful lyrics (which, don’t get me wrong, is fine) but they’re surprisingly positive. Alive or Just Breathing (pw is rdx) was the band’s first major album - the single “My Last Serenade” is the song that got me into the band to begin with, and I’d say this is the album that put them on the map. It’s also the last album to feature Jesse Leach on vocals. The End of Heartache is the album most people seem to like the most, and it’s probably what got a lot of their fans into the band to begin with. Tracks such as “Rose of Sharyn” and “The End of Heartache” seemed to get a decent amount of play on MTV and etc, which is… Whatever. Anyway, enjoy! I’ve seen these guys live twice and they definitely don’t dissapoint, and let’s hope this new album is up to par with the others. Also, I’m sure most of you understand that these links will die eventually since they’re located on free hosting sites, so grab them while you can, and if you are looking for a file that is no longer available, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.

I can’t wait for Borat’s movie to come out. I found some deleted scenes from the movie on YouTube, check ‘em out: Police, Cheese, and Doctor.

This video is pretty damn awesome. It’s called “Battle of the Bands“, and it’s basically a bunch of classic (minus a few) album covers battling to the death. Pretty interesting to watch.

Polar Rose is a new search engine that will allow you to find anyone, in any photo, on any website. The fact that the technology to do this is available is pretty impressive, but the fact that it’s actually being done is more scary than anything else. Read more here.

Wow, I posted two days in a row? Something is not right here. Sorry guys, I’ll try and cut down on the updates, this might be too much for you to handle… Anyway, I have tons of work to do today, especially since I’m going to PSU for the Michigan State game this weekend, and possibly seeing Between the Buried and Me on Sunday in Philly, so I’ve gotta get busy, but I do have more to post when I have the chance.

Dropping Acid With Charles Manson

Two releases for you today (though the Deftones one came out a few days ago) - Please note that these are not the retail albums, they’re samplers that contain a few tracks that will appear on each respective band’s upcoming album. The Deftones release also has some demos and live stuff on it - Enjoy.

The Hellaphone Wallpaper Maker is pretty cool. You can use this site to crop an image to the exact size needed for your cell phone (there are tons of models on there, with more to come), and then it allows you to send the img directly to your phone via txt message. Pretty handy tool. Oh yeah, I just got a new phone, a Nokia 6315i, and I am dead serious when I say that this is my eighth cell phone. I’m already planning on which phone I should buy when I break this one - Since it’s only a matter of time.

What do Ohio State fans do in the library? This investigative report reveals the cold, hard truth. Watch the whole thing, it’s pretty awesome.

I hate Carlos Mencia - I think he lacks anything even remotely resembling talent. The fact that he has his own clothing line is pretty ridiculous. Who would wear that, honestly? Even if he was funny, the shirts still suck.

Suck Out The Poison

The new He Is Legend album, “Suck Out The Poison” has leaked, you can download it here (mirror). If you don’t have their other albums, here they are: I Am Hollywood and 91025. That is all.
