A Tall Seven and Seven August 27
I realize that this is a pretty cliched thing to say… But I can’t believe how quickly this year has flown by. It blows my mind that September is almost here, and the summer is coming to an end. I guess that’s what happens when you get caught up in a routine? Working full time and driving roughly 50 minutes (sometimes over an hour) to and from work every day doesn’t leave time for much else. For the past month or so I was seeing someone (although it didn’t end up working out… no big deal) and I’ve also been checking out apartments, so most days when I get home from work I literally eat dinner and go to bed. I’m hoping to move closer to where I work soon, so I’ll have more time for things outside of work during the week. I’d imagine that once I get settled into an apartment, I’ll have more time for the site as well. Anyway… This has definitely been the quickest Summer of my life, though that’s not to say that I didn’t have a blast on the weekends. Hoodie season is almost upon us…
Hey! Leopard versus crocodile. Go. This would only be cooler if they could somehow throw a dragon into the mix.
Check out these pictures of lightning in sunset shot at Centre Island in Toronto. Amazing. They look like HDR images to me, but the site doesn’t say that they are.
Dave Freeman, co-author of “100 Things to Do Before You Die“… Is dead at 47. Hmmm…
I wouldn’t mind owning one of these things. Even though I’m not exactly sure what it is, I’d never need to wear shoes again, so that’d be cool.
Apparently this movie is so scary, no one can watch it alone. Some douche took that as a challenge, and rented out an entire theater, just so he could prove that the movie isn’t that scary. It cost him $1160… I wonder if it was worth it?
Pixlr is a free online image editor that seems pretty similar to Photoshop - I only messed around with it for a minute, but a lot of the keyword shortcuts are the same, and you can create new layers and stuff. I could see this thing coming in handy, definitely worth checking out, especially if you use Photoshop a lot.
Wow, this is really cool. Writing with a waterfall? Leave it to the Japanese. Anyway, now I have to go pee.
I wish that teachers would have shown us more stuff like this when I was in school… I might have actually paid attention in classes… Probably not, actually, but it would have made things a little bit more interesting.
I know I haven’t posted ‘free stuff’ on here for awhile, and unfortunately I don’t have time to put together a list of stuff right now either. But here is a free pedometer. That’s kinda cool, right? Oh yeah, and the new Of Montreal leaked. It’s called “Skeletal Lamping”, and you can download it here. Might as well throw a few other links on here too. Remember the Toadies? They have a new album out which you can download here. The new Dragonforce, “Ultra Beatdown” (what a lame album name) is here (or here). I have absolutely no interest in the new album by The Verve, but maybe some of you will… You can download The Verve’s “Fourth” here. Mogwai’s “Batcat EP” is here. If you’re into Mogwai, you should also check out Red Sparrowes “Aphorisms EP” here. The new Jesu EP “Why Are We Not Perfect?” is here. David Byrne & Brian Eno’s new album “Everything That Happens Will Happen Today” can be downloaded here (or here). Atlas Sound’s “Logos” is here. Johnny Cash Remixed? I’m not sure how I feel about that, but you can grab it here: Part 1 | Part 2. The new Bloc Party, “Intimacy”, is here. New Xavier Rudd, “Dark Shades of Blue” is here. That’s it for now.
