I don’t care about Guns N’ Roses at all. In fact, I couldn’t care less. But some people do seem to care, since new material from these guys has been like 15 years in the making. Anyway, you can check out the new G n’ R single, “Shacklers Revenge”, here.

More music… I don’t know much about the band Cynic - I’ve heard the name before, but never paid much attention to them. I noticed that they had a new album out, and that it was their first studio album since 1993. Anyway, I randomly downloaded the new album last night and I’ve gotta say that it’s pretty awesome. If you’re into any kind of metal, definitely check out “Traced In Air” (which you can grab here). I’d post more but I need to drive 45 minutes to go pick up my wallet… Dammit.

I’m heading to Assateague Island for the weekend to tackle some wild horses. Don’t really have time to sit down and write an entertaining post (not that I ever do anymore), but here’s some new music: I actually don’t like The Streets at all, but here’s the new album, Everything Is Borrowed. The new Kings of Leon, Only By the Night. Brightblack Morning Light, Motion to Rejoin. Fucked up, The Chemistry of Common Life. Peter Bjorn and John, Seaside Rock. TV on the Radio, Dear Science (this is good). And I’ve been running to the new Justice (Planisphere) which is pretty decent.

I dunno if you guys have heard, but Amy Winehouse has been doing great lately! She’s fine.

What I don’t understand is how someone goes on a 36 hour “pot bender”… I suppose if you’re wired on meth maybe it’s possible? Also, what semi intelligent human being would link schizophrenia and brain damage to marijuana use, when she has also been using coke, heroin, ecstacy, K, and meth? “Man, Billy just hasn’t been the same since he overdosed on marijuana last summer…”

It’s easy to laugh at this and say something like “man, that girl sure knows how to party”, but if she keeps this up… Actually, I think I’ll just laugh at it. She knows exactly what she’s doing, and surely she’s aware of the consequences. I can’t believe I actually thought that she was attractive at one point… Wow.

Whenever something important happens in the presidential race, I always wonder what P. Diddy’s feelings are on the matter. Thank god he now has a video blog so I won’t have to use my imagination anymore. Be sure to check out his highly intelligent, well thought out rant on McCain’s choice for VP, Sarah Palin. He brings up some very valid points, such as the fact that “there’s not even crackheads in Alaska”. Wait, what?

I didn’t know this until today, but Google has an open source web browser, “Chrome“, that will be released today at 18:00 (not sure why they felt the need for military time). This comic sort of explains what inspired the creation of the browser, and some of its features, and you can check out some screen shots here. Or, you could wait a few hours and download it yourself. Right now, google.com/chrome gives a 404 (not found) error, but I’m thinking you’ll probably be able to download it from there (or here) later today. This could be interesting… Each tab is ‘independent’, so if a website causes your browser to crash, only the offending tab will close - You won’t lose all of your other tabs, which is pretty damn cool if you ask me.
